Puppy Classes in Chislehurst & High Elms Country Park

*****

We did plenty of research before choosing a puppy class having had a very negative experience years ago. The Aspire Puppy Course was the perfect fit — reward based training and a small class size, which meant our puppy wasn’t overwhelmed. John was very positive, the classes had focus, and there was always time to address individual queries. Our puppy really looked forward to going every week!

I run small, enrichment-led puppy classes in Chislehurst & High Elms Country Park, designed to help puppies develop calm behaviour, confidence, and real-life skills in a supportive group setting.

These classes are force-free and welfare-focused. The emphasis is on helping puppies learn how to engage with the world safely and appropriately, rather than drilling obedience or using correction-based methods.

Who These Puppy Classes are for

  • These puppy classes are suitable for young puppies and early adolescents whose owners want structured guidance in a calm, supportive environment.

  • They are particularly well suited to puppies who are excitable, sensitive, or easily distracted, and for owners who want to understand why behaviours happen, not just how to stop them.

What We Cover in Puppy Classes

A brown Golden doodle puppy settling nicely on the floor with a lead, a toy rope, and dog treats, indoors in a church with light-coloured wooden flooring and white walls, with two puppy owners sitting in the background.
  • Classes provide structured learning in a small group environment, allowing puppies to practise skills around gentle distractions while remaining supported and comfortable.

  • Content includes controlled puppy socialisation, foundation skills such as settle, impulse control, sit, stay, down, leave it and drop, and early groundwork for recall and loose lead walking.

  • Enrichment activities such as “find it”, retrieve games, and tug are used to support puppies’ natural instincts and encourage focus and emotional regulation.

  • Common puppy challenges such as management, jumping up, puppy biting, and impulse control are addressed in a practical, realistic way.

Why Enrichment-Led Puppy Classes?

  • Enrichment is central to how puppies learn and develop emotionally.

  • By meeting puppies’ physical, mental, and emotional needs, we often see calmer behaviour emerge naturally. This approach supports confidence, resilience, and long-term wellbeing rather than behaviour suppression.

Not Sure If Group Classes Are Right for Your Puppy?

If your puppy would benefit from individual support, or if a group environment feels overwhelming, one-to-one training or the At Home Puppy Course may be a better fit.
