Dog Training & Behaviour Support

Fulfilment-led, force-free 1:1 support for adolescent and adult dogs in your home and real-life environments. Built around your dog's actual needs — not a one-size-fits-all programme.

If your dog has hit 6 months and everything that was working has suddenly stopped — that's adolescence. The recall that was reliable has vanished. The dog that used to focus on you now acts like you don't exist. Behaviours you thought you'd cracked have come back worse than before.

It's normal. It's temporary. And it's very fixable with the right support.

For older dogs, the picture is often different — habits that have built up over months or years, needs that haven't been met, or instincts that have never had a proper outlet. The good news is that dogs can learn and change at any age. It just takes the right approach.

My approach is fulfilment-led and force-free. Before I teach anything, I want to understand what's driving the behaviour — because that's what actually leads to lasting change rather than a lifetime of management.

I work with adolescent and adult dogs across Sidcup, Bexley, Chislehurst, Bromley, Eltham, Dartford, Orpington and surrounding areas.

Common Areas We Work On

  • Jumping up and greeting manners

  • Loose lead walking

  • Recall — on and off lead

  • Excessive barking and reactivity

  • Separation anxiety and settling

  • Engagement, focus and impulse control

  • Strengthening your relationship

  • Scent work and fulfilment activities

  • Adolescent behaviour and the teenage phase

If you're not sure whether what you're dealing with falls within my scope, just get in touch. I'll always tell you honestly if a referral to a clinical behaviourist is the right step.

How We'd Start Working Together

Every new enquiry starts with a short form. Just tell me about your dog and what you're hoping to achieve, and I'll come back to you personally within 24 hours to talk through how I can help.

Your first session is a 90-minute home visit. This is where we properly dig in — I'll assess your dog, understand your home environment, and we'll start working together practically. You'll leave with a clear, personalised plan.

Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, shaped entirely around your dog's progress and your goals. Between sessions you have direct support from me via WhatsApp and email.

Personalised 1:1 Training & Support

Every dog is different. So is every owner, every home, and every challenge you're facing together. Before I recommend anything, I want to understand your situation properly — that's why getting in touch starts with a short form where you can tell me about your dog and what you're hoping to achieve. I'll come back to you personally, usually within 24 hours.

Investment starts from £170 for new clients, which covers your initial assessment session and a follow-up — so we can start properly and build on what we learn together.

Most clients find that a short programme of sessions gets the best and most lasting results. Every client receives a personalised training plan tailored to their dog, their home, and their goals — not a generic programme. Throughout our time working together you'll also have direct support from me via WhatsApp and email, so you're never left figuring things out alone between sessions.

I'll always be honest with you about what I think will genuinely help your dog, and I'll never recommend more than I believe you actually need.

"John has helped us with Winston so much already — in just a few weeks his recall has improved enormously. What I like about all of this training is reward based with no force. John really taps into the breed requirements and what they need to succeed."
